A clear burnished gold with a thin, white head that falls off rapidly leaving some lacing, this looks solid. The nose is grainy and hoppy with a mild candy/honey sweetness, a noticeable body and with bright lemon and herbal hops. The pairing of a sweeter American lager base with the earthy and herbal hops is quite inspired. The palate opens a little sweet with a little honey, a mild caramel, light syrup note tempered by a noticeable bitterness, earthy, minty and even a little resiny. A little sweet on the finish, this beer is squeaky clean, and the absence of a more flavorful malt base just amplifies that. Slick on the palate with a slightly oily feel, this also ends up being a little light. Carbonation is moderate, resulting in a solid, if a little disjointed, overall experience.
