a very faithful example of the style here, clear and light, but not helles light, with some earthy and wet doughy character to the malt, a clean ferment, and some old world lager yeast flavor, nice proportions, easy drinking, very well refined, no way to cover up any flaws in a beer like this, and there arent any. its crisp and refreshing, brilliantly carbonated, and drinks like a cooler weather pils this time of year. this is more the kind of thing i know these guys for, despite seeing a whole mess of hoppy and funky beers from them hit the market recently, this is where they really excel. the clarity here is immaculate, the two inches of puffy white head suit it perfectly, and the racing bubbles show how lively it is. the nose and taste are about the same, one of those beers where you can tell water chemistry matters, and they nailed it for this style. its mineral forward, drying, and somewhat hearty, even though the grain is as light as it is, the grain is highlighted by the water. the hops are noble and mild, lightly spicy and lightly bitter and entirely on the finish. this is very fresh, there is great balance, and its something i could have sat and drank all afternoon. technically exceptional example of the style here!

Had on tap. Crystal clear gold with a white head and solid lacing. Aromas grains, pale malt, cracker, german yeast, and floral hops. Taste is also appropriately grainy and satiating, herbal additions to the floral hops are welcome in the finish, otherwise as the nose foretold. Feel is crisp, clean, dry, somewhat pale and grainy. The wife liked it
