Look: Cloudy yellow on the pour with a nice-looking white head that swells and slowly settles to a 1-finger lid, leaving great lacing behind
Aroma: Melon, apricot, pineapple, nectarine, passionfruit, limes, guava, mandarins, mango, and sweet bready malt
Taste: Starts out with a hit of melon and guava before the tropical fruit salad bowl is literally dumped into the glass. Mango, passionfruit, limes, pineapple, apricot, papaya, and mandarins all in play and the depth continues to unpack through the close, all atop a nice malt base
Mouthfeel: Full, smooth, clean, medium-high carbonation, and just a touch of dryness on the finish
Overall: I dig it. A tropical twist on a classic and tasty WCIPA is something I can definitely sign up for and dove into this treat head-first. As advertised, it is a tropical fruit dominate IPA that has great depth and is executed nicely and without the heavy sweetness I’ve found in some tropical fruit-leaning IPAs. Tasty stuff and I’d get it again in a heartbeat

VON EBERT – TROPICAL SUBSTANCE IPA - 6.9abv
A gift from my son. This golden brew has a very unique fruit flavor mix unlike any beer I have ever had. There is a fruit blend of pineapple, mango and apple plus a fruit flavor that’s unavailable in your grocery store. For those who treasure a flavor unlike any other beer this is your ticket to bliss, The hops used result in the unique flavors shown in this brew. The hops used are: YCH, MOSAIC, INDIE STRATA, HOPSTEINER, SULTANA and KRUSH CYRO.

Clear amber with modest foam in the chalice. Big aroma of peach and lime peel. This is weirdly fruity tasting, or very fruity and still weird. I taste apricot, peach, prune, and something sharp and bitter in the citrus line. It's sudsy on the tongue with a substantial malty body. Fairly sweet with moderate acidity. The aftertaste is quite bitter but in keeping with the general exuberance of hops. Overall this is something different and certainly drinkable enough for the hardened IPA fan. Seems like another case of too much is never enough. From the 16 oz can 04/11/25.
