Pours more like a NEIPA in color. Nice citrus aroma and creamy mouthfeel with the bite of a NWIPA, different but really good for an IIPA. Doesn't taste like an 8.5 ABV beer as it is really easy drinking.

a cloudy west coast IPA with more bitterness and pith than the NE 'hazy' style. stable and consistent, but apparently isnt hitting the notes others like or expect, hence the low(er) ratings here on BA? i like it.

16-ounce can purchased at the original John's Marketplace in Multnomah Village, Portland, OR. Date stamp reads "07/30/25". Enjoyed in a nonic half-pint glass.
Pours a pale and opaque orange-yellow, topped with a plump cushion of foam that settles in for a long chat and leaves sheets of heavy lacing on the glass. The nose is mostly grapefruit juice, with a whiff of something tropical and some interesting woody notes I'm having trouble pinning down. The flavor, to my surprise, is much bolder than the nose (not something I'm used to in hazy IPAs). Grapefruit peel, tangerine juice, mango nectar, berry pie filling, red Swedish Fish, and scattered fragments of pine resin, fennel, and those elusive woody notes. Body is medium-heavy with a fluffy texture and fairly soft carbonation that still has a decent bite. It even has a somewhat pugnacious bitterness. Finishes with a noticeable burn. This appears to be a hazy IPA which manages to reach hazy curmudgeons like myself. I'm impressed. Would definitely drink again.
