Look - 470 ml can poured into an IPA tasting glass. Dark golden in color, slightly hazy, with a fairly small head and trace lacing.
Smell - fresh grass, some citrus, and some malty undertones. a bit danky too.
Taste - light malts hit the palate first, followed by a fairly strong wave of hoppy bitterness. grassiness and dank stands out. bitterness lingers for quite some time into the finish, which is slightly warm.
Feel - medium bodied, below average carbonation, and relatively strong at 8.4% ABV. alcohol is generally well masked but some warmness detectable.
Overall - this tastes and feels like an old-school west coast IPA. a lot of bitterness (to the point that covers some hop aromas and flavor), a strong malty backbone, and decently boozy. not at all like what we get in the states these days, but it's a nice trip down memory lane.
