nice beer here, a simple golden ale on the surface, but really quite complex, super well made and tasty, some hop character to it, a touch of incredibly flattering sweetness, a distinctive floral aspect, and high freshness which makes this perfect for this time of year, all in our group were stoked on this one. looks like a beer, an average white head from the tap on top of a spritzing golden body, bright and approachable. the nose is clean and fresh, but not anywhere near as striking as the taste , like the nose doesnt give away how unique this actually is, subtle elderflower and citrusy hops, but real restrained, perhaps a hint of honey and vanilla, but this isnt sweet and it still fits within style guidelines to me, a little biscuity thing to the malt, agreeable for most beer drinkers here i would assume. because the aroma is kind of restrained, the flavor hits hard to me, not that its so bold, but its interesting and unexpected for the style. major blooming white florals up front, orchid, apple blossom, and soft grain sweetness through it. nothing at all from the yeast and almost no bitterness, so whatever this element is sure is defining, hops i assume, but its unfamiliar as a profile and it really is lovely. honeydew melon, earthy pale barley, and a refreshing finish. light in body but not watery or devoid of personality there, well carbonated, and almost lager level crispness. i loved this, love the flavor in the middle, and would love to try some more beers from fire maker!
