A: Pours clear copper with a massive tan head, very creamy and compact. Rich lacings after a long wait.
S: Dark dried fruits, and bready sweet malt. Some smoked ham and faint bitter hops. A bit mild.
T: Rich full sweet malt, very bready. Dark dried fruits together with mild bitter hops. Some faint dark chocolate.
M: Rather long sweet aftertaste, a bit burnt. Full body, and low carbonation.
O: A Doppelbock is always a Doppelbock - this is nice, but far from the best ones.

50cl bottle poured into Paulaner Seidel
BBE 12 April 2011
A- Dark copper brown body with excellent clarity. 2 finger creamy head that reduces relatively quickly to a crown. Lacing is minimal
S- Slight peppery nose, touch of malt sweetness and doughy bready malt albeit very subtle.
T- Subtle again. A little toffeeish malt balancing with a medicinal bitter note in the finish. Overall the disappointment is the flavour just doesnt get going. Finish is lager clean.
M- Medium carbonation, good body, lager clean
D- Forgettable to be honest. Nice mouthfeel but has no flavour profile to back it up. Shame.
