Collaboration with Angry Chair Brewing

Brewed with our scratch golfing homie from Angry Chair Brewing in Tampa Bay Florida. We created an oily thick base stout which was then conditioned on one ton of toasted coconut, a ton of roasted pistachios, and boutique cocoa nibs before swirls of caramel were added.

Humble Forager/Angry Chair collab Swingin' Sticks Imperial Sweet Stout, 13% ABV. Pours black with a ring of bubbles, leaving an oily sheen instead of lacing. Nose is coconut, caramel and chocolate. Taste follows, plus nuts, with coconut up front, quite sweet, slightly bitter. Decent mouthfeel, overall excellent.

Found at a small bottle shop in Colorado Springs and thought I’d give it a try. It is almost 3 years old but a 13% stout should be able to handle that.
The pour is indeed oily black with the darkest brown head I’ve ever seen, though the foam faded fast and instead of lacing it coated the glass with an oily film.
The taste is still strong in the chocolate and coffee areas but the coconut and pistachios are merged with the caramel to create a curious (but tasty) sweetness.
The feel is viscous and almost oily, just not getting past that.
Once I see the bottom I notice chunks of something there, that’s not appealing.
OA, probably better fresh, I didn’t realize it’s age when I picked it up. Oh well.

Decent stout but it might be my least favorite stout from Humble Forager yet. Sure it’s big and bold, but then adjuncts are not as present as I would hope.

355 ml can, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 13%. Pitch black colour, small brown head dissipates instantly. Aroma of caramel, malts, roasted nuts, a hint of cocoa. Oily and cloying mouthfeel, minimal carbonation. Very sweet and unbalanced flavour, loads of caramel, also toasted coconuts, roasted pistachios and cocoa. Very moderate hops.
