(Canned 6/13/22, 1.5 months ago)
Appearance: Pours a nearly completely hazy (20%), medium to deep, dusky orange color with a massive white head. SRM of 7-8. (4.50)
Aroma: Strong aromas of pineapple citrus rind, some coconut, white grape, white peach. Some tropical notes of rambutan. Then a strong floral and tea note behind that. Some kiwi and honeydew. But largely a pineapple, bitter rind aromas. (4.50)
Flavor: Very different than the nose here. Strong flavors of orange, peaches, papaya, stonefruit. Juicy. Hints of pineapple, but not as much as the nose. Finishes juicy and sweet. (4.00)
Feel: Medium to heavier bodied. Low carbonation. Finish leaves a sweetness on the palate. (3.75)
Compared to Eagle Park Demon Haze 8/1/22: Pours a darker color, larger head. More pineapple on the aroma. Flavor is darker and slighty sweeter.
Compared to Humble Forager Hopsurd 9/12/22: Pours a slightly lighter, clearer color. Similar aromas. Stronger flavors. More nectarine, tangerine, tropical notes. Less peach, citronella, tea. Heavier and sweeter.
Compared to Hop Butcher Interocean 10/7/22: Pours a darker clearer color. Stronger aromas. More juicy and tropical berries. Less dank and pine notes. A smoother and juicier flavor with less pine bitterness.
Compared to Eagle Park Heart it Races 10/7/22: Pours darker, clearer, stronger aromas. More juicy and tropical flavors. Less peach. Lighter and cleaner with more juicy tropical notes.
Overall: A very nice NEIPA here. Juicy and leans sweet. The flavor was much different than the nose. The aroma was pineapple, but then on the flavor nice orange, peach, citronella, stonefruit, canteloupe and tea. Some tropical peach and green tropical fruit lingers. Finish is sweet. Slightly under-carbonated for the heavier body. Still drinks very nicely. (Rating: 4.18)
