Collaboration with Horus Aged Ales
Barrel-aged stout
Adjuncts - hazelnuts, coconut, coffee & maple syrup
A massive stout developed intense flavors over the 36 month barrel aging period. Post barrel aging we blended this oily liquid with roasted hazelnuts, toasted coconut, fresh ground Wonderstate coffee and Amish maple syrup.

Near black, viscous pour; no appreciable carbonation or head; opaque. Dark, rich chocolate nose; toasted coconut; subliminal whiskey element. Impeccable taste; rich milk chocolate; roasted nuts; coconut; fully-integrated bourbon note; the maple syrup aspect slowly emerges after everything else; coffee ground bitterness at the finish of every sip. Immensely dense and near-sludgy mouthfeel; heavy, heavy residual sugar feel; mighty stickiness.
Man, when two great breweries combine their efforts, one always hopes for a spectacular end result. We have one here. The amazing depth and complexity hinted at in the nose explodes with a passion once you sip this baby. The real beauty is that not a single aspect of their adjuncts or barrel aging overly dominate a thing. The real beauty lays with how each of the adjuncts exposes its presence at different times with each sip, many times oozing out from one of the other flavors that catches your attention. This one is a true beauty of the dark barrel aged brewing process.
