Clear and dark brushed copper, topped with a lazy ivory lace.
Nose of hard toffee and dead ferns.
Begins with a snap of stale graham crackers, then surges forward with toffee and caramel-glazed almonds. A brief fruitiness, mostly of dehydrated apples and orange peels. Caramel resides through the middle, riding a ephemeral dusting of chocolate. Concludes with a minor brown leaf hop notes, that carries more in slaking bitterness than actual flavor. It seems fairly close to an altbier, minus the lagering.
Medium in the mouth, with a steady, light bead.
Solid brewpub amber ale, nothing more, and nothing less.
