This Smoked Helles was inspired by some of our favourite lagers from Bamberg, the spiritual home of smoked beer. To get that distinctive flavour we added a small amount of beech smoked malt to a classic Helles recipe.
The result is an easy drinking, lightly coloured, Smoked Helles, with a rich and pleasantly carbonated body, the gently smoky aroma giving way to a tasty malt sweetness and a crisp finish. Perfect to enjoy during the upcoming barbecue season.

Tremendous smoked helles. The base beer is super refreshing and drinkable and would be an excellent helles in its own right. The delicate smoked flavour adds an extra dimension that suits the summer season very nicely. It’s understated, not at all like a full-blooded rauchbier. More a hint of smoke than a mouthful of barbecue. It looks fantastic as well: pale gold with streams of bubbles and a long-lasting cream head. Good stuff.
