The current name for this is Old Thumper:
served in a glass resembling a flute/pilsner mix. Hazy brown/copper body with a nice soft white head.
Smells of light red fruit (plum, grape, maybe cherry). Some alcohol is present.
Taste of cherry and malt, some hops, some sweet bisuit, a bit raw. Alcohol is not detected in taste.
Feels a bit thin. Not very warming, very drinkable, yet I think it was almost too drinkable. Perhaps I was just in that kinda mood.

Served in a 10 oz. glass. Dark chesnut body with ruby highlights and a thin, guaze-y, off-white head. Too cold when I got it, so I let it warm up a bit. Aromas of sugary malt, alcohol, and faint hops. Not bad, but not complex enough for a barley wine. Same goes for the taste. Sweet, bready malts dominate, with an off, cardboardy twang. I can taste the alcohol too. Hops come in, and balance out the sweetness, but that's all they do. I like the hop profile to have more flavor and complexity. Mouthfeel was a little thin for a BW. Not a bad beer, but meh...
