We probably should have called this one DAFSSR. We'll let you figure that out. Needless to say the Dankness is real. As with previous years we made it to ring in the new year, 2023 First Sunrise Edition is triple dry-hopped with obscene amounts of Idaho 7, Citra & Mosaic (and their various CRYO forms.. smh $$$) the hop punch is blistering and battering, delivering imho our best version of this heavy-hitting hazy triple to date.

From the Carwyn Cellars "One" subscription pack, March 2023. Drunk in April 2023.
L: A gleaming, sunrise orange with a creamy haziness. A bright white head tops a still beer with no visible carbonation rising up the glass.
S: The usual tropical fruit basket, with peach and papaya particularly standing out. A fan of hazies could spend all day smelling this.
T: The predicted tropical fruits are there, but there's a spicy, hoppy body that dominates. Hop burn with a vegetal and diesel note comes quickly to the fore and overwhelms the tropical tastes on offer. Finally, a chalky bitter note follows the swallow, with hop burn sitting noticeably in the stomach and throat.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth, but the hop burn is high, and along with the medium levels of carbonation it lets you know you're drinking a big, 9% ABV beer.
O: Maybe a bit too spicy and a bit too dieselly to be a really enjoyable beer, but certainly worth the time.
Cheers!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
