This is our English Barleywine Necessary Evil which we aged in maple rye whiskey barrels.

Enjoying a 500ml bottle out in The 'Zebo, purchased at the source for $10.00.
Hard-poured half the bottle into a sniftah... it's an opaque, deep chestnut/mahogany color. No carbo espied within, but up top sits a 1/2" layer of light beige suds. Ebbs rapidly down to a fine, thin layer with solid lacing. Aroma is lovely, with whiskey and maple jumping out. Also has caramel and toffee; malty and rich! It's pretty smooth and creamy on the tongue, with a medium-plus body.
Flavor has more toffee and caramel action covering the palate. There are some subtle rye notes present, but the maple is what's quite prevalent. The finish is pleasant, with earthy, floral hopping making an appearance. Solid all around!! Cheers!!
