on tap at Texas Roadhouse in Bristol, VA served in a tall mug

The beer pours a clear light golden color with a small frothy white head that quickly recedes leaving behind no lacing.

The aroma is fairly mild, a light malty sweetness and just a hint of hops

The flavor is fairly similar to the aroma. A light grainy malt character with just a hint of generic hoppiness. There is also a mild metallic flavor, not enough to be off-putting, but still noticeable. Light bodied and nicely carbonated.

Overall, the beer is OK for what it is, but I wouldn't seek it out...

Taster at Payette taproom. This one didnt' fare much better than the lager. Clear golden with a small frothy head. Sweet aroma, grains. Honey kicks in at the taste, seemingly a bit much, along with a lingering metallic flavor that just lingers on and on. Hard to finish. Opinion: Based on the whole corporate feel of the brewer's page, it seems like this is all about marketing, without much care for the product.

another drinker from these guys, all being made at payette and pretty widely available in idaho in seems now, at least around boise. this is decent, made by a good brewery, but somewhat of a weird recipe, a little copper hue to it, not as light blonde as some, not yellowy and not as light in flavor is we were all anticipating, but still a pretty easy drinking six pack of beer. one thing that stands out is that it holds a better head and has more carbonation than the others of theirs i have had so far, which really matters in this style, and is much appreciated. i dont mind the little bit of malt, its slightly brassy metallic, but clean in the finish, nothing from the yeast, just mild bittering hops, very minimal overall, even with the malt. it doesnt smell like much, but the flavor is balanced and a little different from the crowd, but it also doesnt exactly scratch my itch for a crusher yellow beer. three beers in and im still not sure about this waltrip brewery, but this is pretty agreeable on the whole, if underwhelming.
