"" AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH""
Brett and Jordan shriek whilst preparing brownies in the kitchen.
""AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH""
Brett metal ten folds the cherries into the batter whilst Jordan sets the oven to fast melting steel. We've worked with the Good Beer Week Bake Off winners, Brett and Jordan from @beers.2.review, to brew a decadent Imperial Stout which replicates their delicious Cherry Chocolate Brownie.

Purchased at Chas Cole Cellarbrations in Geelong in May 2024 and drunk in December of that year.
L: As black as the ace of spades, with a thick, dirty brown head. Lots of sticky lacing is left on the glass. Lots of tiny bubbles can be seen flowing steadily up the edge of the glass.
S: The aroma is cherries and chocolate, just as advertised on the can. The cherry leans towards the glace end of the spectrum rather than something fresh off the tree, but it remains enticing.
T: The taste is sweet chocolate, vanilla and cherry, and it's really quite delicious, like a black forest cake or block of chocolate. It's 9.5% ABV, but I can't help constantly sipping at it, such is the allure of the sweet cherry goodness in my glass. The alcohol is well hidden. It's there but integrated perfectly and helps move the chocolate profile to the darker end. Even as the beer warmed, the taste profile never stepped over the too-sweet line, and in fact, the cherry came even more to the fore at that point.
M: The beer is thick and soft, and carbonation and the carbonic bite are minimal. The main note regarding the mouthfeel is the stickiness of the liquid. My lips are stuck together, and my moustache is plastered to my top one. But it's all part of this beer's wonderful ride, and I'm digging all of it.
O: My last ever Deeds beer, some eight months after it was forced to close. This beer is probably emblematic of their problems. It was delicious, like most of their beers, but also expensive, high in alcohol and not really approachable to anyone but the committed craft beer drinker. Their ability to find that niche is probably what killed them in the end, as I can't imagine these were cheap beers to brew, and if the market slows down in the biggest cost of living crisis in giving memory, something's gotta give. Unfortunately, Deeds was that thing. But damn, I enjoyed this beer.
Cheers!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
