On tap at the brewery.
Dark amber, a color that at home on this fall day. The head is small and weathered white.
Light, slightly salty smoke, kind of like smoked almonds. The aroma is restrained.
It’s begins with caramel, quickly followed by the light beechwood smokiness, still with just a little salinity. The middle is a bit rich, which is satisfying, and it finishes with some bitterness.
Medium bodied with medium carbonation that really shows up in the finish.
I love to see an American brewery making a Rauchbier.
