Take a stroll through the the woods with this foresty, piney, hop forward West Coast style DIPA with Chinook, Simcoe and Mosaic. Brewed with Munich and Vienna malt for a robust backbone to support the hops.

Poured an orange-gold seethru body with decent head and lace down glass. The aroma is mild, malty with a butter herbal hop smell. Beer is medium bodied, a little tasty as it balances grapefruit and dry hoppiness with an earthy finish.

Super dark color, not surprising if you read the malt bill. Among the darkest red IPAs I’ve seen.
The malt is on the forefront on the nose, as well, with a bunch of caramel, toffee, and pepper. Additional notes of pine and grapefruit, but the hops are muted.
More hop profile on the palate, but it’s still a very malty IPA. I wonder that they don’t market this as a red IPA, but I’m glad they didn’t go with red ale. Tasting notes of orange, caramel, brown sugar, pine, and grapefruit. Moderately bitter in a nice throwback way.
