Pours way more brown than red. The smell is malts and caramel. The taste is it’s weakest point. It tastes like a watery Rickards Red (I actually prefer Richards) Mouthfeel is thin. Overall so-so. My least favourite of the “Original Six” brews

NO can date
Pours a foamy off-white 1 finger head with moderate retention, soapy lacing, clear darker auburn to iced-tea-brown color
Nose sweet toasted reddish malt, biscuity, little caramel and bread crust, touch fruity malt-derived esters, light herbal hop, getting semi sweet and quite fruity
Taste brings semi sweet toasted reddish malts, biscuity and big bread crust again, touch of caramel, toffee, semi sweet, fair fruity flavors with malt-derived ester fruits, herbal tea hop with a little spicy note late, iced-tea herbal hop, med bitterness getting fairly spicy to higher bitterness late
Mouth is med bod, med-higher slight effervescent carb
Overall not bad for red ale
