Presentation: 32 oz. crowler with the canning date written on the label. Served in a pint glass.
Appearance: The dense, one finger, tan colored head stays around for a bit and then disappears leaving behind some patchy lacing. Its a pure black color with some murky brown showing up on the edges.
Smell: There's a damp, musty smell of overripe cocoa, malt and even raisins. It finishes with a milk chocolate note.
Taste: It starts of moderately sweet with some milk chocolate, brown sugar and a strange, decaying raw cocoa flavor. It finishes with a touch of coffee bitterness in the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: It's light to medium bodied with a silky, creamy smoothness. Carbonation is low.
Overall: It's an OK milk stout. There's just a strong mustiness that's not quite right on the nose and palate and keeps it from being great.
