Paris 3/4 2026. 33 cl bottle from MonoPrix, Rue la Boëtie, Paris 8e. Dreary dark grey label with the brewery’s name and logo in indistinguishable black and name of the beer in white letters.
Pours opaque murky mahogany with a small white head. A bit bubbly. Settles as a thin patchy layer of foam struggling to cover the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is fairly intense with a sweet odor of dark malt and sugar mingling with licorice. Sweet caramel and brown sugar. Licorice and anise. Whiff of salty cough drops.
Light carbonation. Slightly thick oily, soft, almost flat texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a slightly more moderate bitterness. Salty tang. Lingers for a bit. Finish semi-dry with a salty touch.
A salty and flat dog.
