Lovely banana smell. ABV 5.6 but tastes lighter than that. Not on a par with German Hefeweizen beers but nice attempt from an Aussie brewery

Love a hefeweizen, unfortunately this is not a great version. Great for Aussie brewers to try it but we need some banana flavours first then some good long lasting head. Both of these were missing but good on you for at least trying something different to and IPA!

On-draught @ the brewery. $5 AUD per small pour into stemware.
AROMA: Doughy bready yeast. Orange peel. Clove.
T/MF: Fresh soft wheat, fluffy in feel. Light-bodied and stupidly refreshing. Subtle orange peel, faint spicy clove, scintillae of dough.
A bit dry but undeniably refreshing.
O: A shockingly good hefeweizen with a bit of rustic farmhouse flair. Not quite to style in terms of strict German tradition, bending things Belgian, but when the result is this good, who cares?
B+ / VERY GOOD
