L- Presumably very pale gold but with a pronounced haze it appears a milky yellow/brown. Pours with a 1mm white head that's holding fine. ps. Bottle had rested for about 2 weeks so the sediment eagerly lifted into the pour... ie don't anticipate avoiding it.
S- Bready and grainy, and I get a mild mild hint of conifer/spice too.
T- I think they've nailed the Witbier/weissbrau genre. There's a subtle hint of spice, and good hopping; notable because east Asians are not genetically drawn to bitter tastes (x-ref: 'The Asian bitter gene').
F- In retrospect I started this bottle off over-chilled and the body seemed a touch light. Now 10mins in it's warmed some and it feels better balanced. Very nice, sessionable too.
O- It's very nice, there is zero here I note out of place or balance. I'd be impressed drinking this over in Belgium, Germany, etc but for this to come from E.Asia highlights how rapidly tastes out there are developing towards more sophisticated offerings. Roll on the day when the Koreans and Japanese are applying their goal of 'perfect imitation + then better yet' to trad British ales :)
Not cheap at £3.20/330ml bottle, as a specialist import, hence I'm unlikely to buy it again; but to experience a solid Korean Wit, yep, worth it. Bottled: 27/11/2019. From: Oriental City, 26 Queensway, London W2.
