Reviewed on 6/27/2010. On tap at the brewpub. The beer pours black with a thick chocolatey head. Aroma of roasted malt and bitter chocolate. Flavor of roasted malt with less chocolate. Palate is a little too sweet and wearing. Overall, it is just ok for me.

was served a glass at the brewery, arrived a solid black with a nice tan head the never went away.
the aroma was great very roasty and carmelized malt.
the flavor was rich, cocoa, roasted barley, hop spice, creamy, mocha.
this beer is great, complex, yet not off the scale.

Pours at 6.7% ABV. THis one is dark, black to be exact with slight brownish notes towards the edges. Carries a small head with nice compact carbonation. Nose is big on roastiness as designed. Flavor is big and dry roasted malty all the way, nice.Body is dry but not astringent, finish is short, leaves you wanting more.
