The Czar's Brewery

The Czar rocks. So I walked into this small funky place, and ordered a beer from the bar, 6 or 7 seats tops, all taken. I retreated to a small table. Ten minutes later, a regular stops by and says, "There's a couple of seats at the bar, c'mon up and join us." If you like friendly folks & friendly places, the Czar is all that.

The beer list was refreshing as well. Varied variety, kinda rare in New England breweries nowadays. Don't get me wrong, I love IPAs, and there were 3 of 'em. I chose the English Mild, Irish Red, and the West Coast IPA. All were really good.

They're a tiny place, don't feature music or many major events (except for the hotdog eating contest - they make great hotdogs!), but the blues on the radio was topnotch. I love this place and will be back!

Located in a small, quaint section of Exeter, the brewery shares space with a realty company. Excellent, attentive service with a great selection. Right across the street from Phillips Exeter Academy. Cool.
