Ross Brewing Co.

This small brewery is located in the harbor of Port Monmouth. It's surrounded by water and fishing and transportation vessels. The facility itself is housed in an industrial building with a very small seating area inside but a large tent and separate outdoor seating area. There was a food truck in the driveway. When we visited the crowd was modest but I understand it can be very large on weekends. The owners and staff were very friendly and I was able to discuss beer with them. Instead of the regular beers I had a Belgian Strong Dark Ale and a Brux Belgian Stout, both of which were quite good. The canned selections were depleted by the madness of St. Patrick's Day. While it doesn't provide in-brewery food options there is an excellent seafood market steps away. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. I would recommend a visit to this up-and-coming brewery.
