Copenhagen 27/4 2021. 37,5 cl heavy glass bottle from Væskebalancen, Valby Langgade, Valby. Vault City's usual design with the lattice gate in a pink and purple version.
Pours opaque, murky burgundy with a big pink head. Bubbly. Settles as thin layer of foam just covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is fairly intense with sugary sweet berries meeting fresh tart notes. Sweet cherries, sugar and jam. Tart notes of sour unripe gooseberries. Whiff of barnyard and sour cheese.
Medium strong carbonation. Slightly thick, soft, smooth, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a slightly more moderate tart sourness. Aftertaste is tart with a sweet undertone. Lingers for a while. Finish is semi-dry.
Fine and well balanced sour with a hefty fruity, sweet touch.

Very hazy red body with a really nice white head
The nose is a lot on vanilla and cherries. Almost like a clafouti cake.
The taste follows with mostly the cherry. The hibiscus is very discreet. Nice sourness
The mouthfeel is juicy
A great one from vault city, as always

A 375ml bottle with a best before date of 5th October 2022. Poured into a Lost Abbey teku glass.
Appearance: A deep red colour with a slight purple hue and a big two finger pinkish head that dissipated fairly quickly while leaving some lacing.
Aroma: Juicy, lightly tart cherry, blackcurrant, red apple, and a touch floral.
Taste: Very lightly tart, moderately sweet, mixed berries, cherry, blackberry, blackcurrant, and floral (I’m guessing it’s the hibiscus).
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with moderate to high carbonation.
Overall: Cherry and vanilla should be a match made in heaven, but I’m not getting any of the supposed vanilla aroma or flavours. It was also not quite the cherry bomb I was hoping for as the floral hibiscus notes were quite strong, along with a whole bunch of other mixed berry aroma and flavours that crept in. For a sour beer, the use of sweet cherries also appears to have turned it on the sweet side, which I’m not fond of.
