With a soft tan head and deep ruby hue, our take on a traditional Barleywine features a rich blend of British and German malts with a late addition of English and New Zealand hops.
A complex grain bill of Pale, Munich, Crystal, Amber, Carafa and Melanoidin malts creates a full-bodied biscuity foundation with nutty undertones. East Kent Goldings and Taiheke hops added towards the end of the boil infuse a subtle hop character that perfectly complements the malt base.
Each sip delivers notes of dark fruit with plum, raisin, and fig at the forefront, rounding out this exquisitely layered Barleywine.

Copenhagen 18/3 2025. 33 cl tall slim can from Meny, Vermlandsgade, Kbh. S. A shadowy landscape with trees and Vault City's logo with a doorway with a lattice in gold. It seems that this beer has been registred under the wrong brewery as it is a Scottish brew (Vault City) not an American one (Vault Brewing) .
Pours clear dark mahogany with a small off-white head. Bubbly, Disappears fairly fast leaving a solemn dark fluid behind. No lacing.
Aroma is intense with a sugary, malty odor mingling with sweet ark alcohol. Dark malts, brown sugar and toffee. Sweet dark liqueur with a touch of marzipan and almonds.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, oily, a bit greasy, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is intense with a heavy sweetness followed by a more moderate sourish bitterness. Aftertaste is sugary with a healthy streak of alcohol. Lingering. Finish is sugary and a bit boozy.
Potent sugary specimen.
