Copenhagen 4/5 2021. 37,5 cl heavy glass bottle from Væskebalancen, Valby Langgade, Valby. Vault City's usual design with the lattice gate in a purple version.
Pours opaque, murky burgundy with a big pinkish head. Quite bubbly. Settles as thin, patchy layer of foam unable to cover the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is intense with a fruity, berry odor mingling with a roasted scent of coffee. Tart gooseberries and sour currants. Sweet dark coffee lurking just beneath.
Medium strong carbonation. Medium thick, oily, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is intense with a medium strong sweetness followed and balanced by a medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is sour and lingers for a while. Finish is laced in coffee.
A quite weird combination of coffee and sourness which works in its own idiosyncratic way.
