It seems that no reach is too great when it comes to the best in Mosaic hop fueled, imperialized status IPA as the Broken Throne brewery brings such a taste to Appalachian Hop Heads in every knick and cranny.
Pouring a rich amber hue, the translucence honey appearance is topped with a creamy eggshell froth. As its scent rolls over the rim, a ripe and radiant fruit perfume is strong with tropical fruit, stone fruit and an undertow of citrus. A generous malt backbone makes for a sweet introduction of honey, caramel and poundcake.
As its full and luscious maltiness splashes against the middle palate, its no match for the Mosaic hops that dominates the taste thereafter with passionfruit, dark berry and mango. With an ester profile of apricot and nectarine, the beer trails into a late palate fueled with peppery black tea, lime and hemp-like herbs.
Full bodied and creamy through a long and bittersweet finish, alcohol vapor has a spicy vodka-like twinge that’s outlasted only by those botanical grasses, spruce and cedar types of woodsy bitterness.
