Brauerei Hönig "Lagerbier"
,5L at the brewery on 16 September 2017
Notes: A clear golden body is capped by a full head of fluffy white foam. It displays good head retention and better lacing. The aroma is bready and herbal. The taste follows with a doughy, bready malt and similar herbal hops that are almost reminiscent of oregano. A median bitterness balances it and leads to a mostly dry finish. It's medium bodied and soft and smooth in the mouth with a fine-bubbled, restrained carbonation. Nicely done.

Pours a slightly clouded amber color with a spongy, big head.
Smells of caramel, spelt grains and rich hay among garden herbs and old leaves.
Has a refreshing, well carbonated mouthfeel, showcasing a well balanced, light bodied beer, which drinks quite easy.
Tastes of hoppy, dry hay, sweet toffee and toasted grains among calming yeast. Turns sweeter with well pronounced toffee and lighter caramel, with their balancing hoppy counterpart remaining recognizable. Finishes soft and malty with a rustic character to it, inheriting a lighter, well fitting noble hop dryness.
This is quite a treat. Light and refreshing, this manages to bring a fantastic depth of flavors to light, which then get balanced almost playfully.

A rustic, classic Kellerbier. Very low carbonation and good pils malt sweetness, balanced by just enough noble hop character to round out the finish.
