Another one of these supermarket owned beers that have been sub-contracted to smaller breweries - Tribe Breweries on behalf of Pinnacle Drinks (BWS, Dan Murphys), this I susepct is going to be another competitor to the success of Stone & Woods Pacific Ale. A bright yellow can 'Zesty Pale Ale',
Look: Almost as bright yellow as the can itself, slightly hazy, but fairly clear. Lots of carbonation. head is a light thin froth that I don't expect to hang around.
Smell: Bang on the money for a tropical, pacific style pale ale. lemon, lime, citrus notes, passionfruit, hint of mango, sweet malt almost like honey. Does smell tropical and refreshing.
Taste: Follows through on the taste. Citrus sourness and bitterness throughout the sip, and a rounded malty sweetness.
Feel: Light bodied, good carbonation, easy drinking. Perfect for a hot summers day.
Overall: For the style, it's actually a pretty good beer. It's got lots of citrus flavours, it's light and easy drinking. Goes down smooth. A good cheap alternative to the likes of Stone & Wood Pacific Ale. Would pick these up again in the summer. Good beach beer.
