A: Pours a relatively clear medium to dark mahogany in color with moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and moderate dark cola brown + ruby red + garnet red + chestnut brown colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall foamy dark beige head that reduces to a handful of small patches of medium thick film surrounded by a large patch of slightly mottled thin film covering the remainder of the surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Light amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Slightly stronger than moderate aroma of dark + toasted + caramel + biscuit malts with moderate amounts of caramel + brown sugar + dark fruit (plum + date) sweetness. Very light aromas of earthy hops. Light to moderate aromas of slightly spicy Belgian yeast.

T: Upfront there are slightly stronger than moderate flavors of dark + toasted + caramel + biscuit malts with moderate amounts of caramel + brown sugar + dark fruit (plum + date) sweetness. That is followed by light to moderate flavors of slightly spicy Belgian yeast. Finally there are very light flavors of earthy hop which impart a light amount of bitterness which fades away pretty quickly leaving lingering caramel malty sweetness + spicy Belgian yeast flavors lingering.

M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Smooth but a touch thin with a very light amount of dryness in the finish.

O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol though the beer was a touch lighter/thinner than expected in the mouthfeel. Enjoyable with fairly classic Belgian Dubbel flavors and aromas. Well executed and a welcome find at my local beer store.
