Dutchbag Brew Co. is a resident contract-brewer at Duneyrr, with several beers on the menu there. Located in the Motor Row district near McCormick Place in the former location of Motor Row Brewing. Duneyrr is on the first floor with a tiny tasting room and larger brewery visible in the back, and barrels along the far back wall. Cozy small taproom with seasonal winter decor, including a flatscreen fireplace.
Service was great, the Duneyrr owner/brewer was tending at the bar, and knew all the Dutchbag beers and had good insights about their brewery concept. They mostly focus on Nordic beer styles, some clean and some mixed fermentation.
Beer selection included one can of Counting Sheep “Nordic Weisse” on the menu and five other beers to go. Not a lot of representation. Quality is ok, Dutchbag's packaged beers have been hit or miss from my experience. Unique ideas that don’t always fully coalesce, but i’ll keep trying them and see what develops. Still too early to tell. They launched at Pilot Project, but have moved here in the last year or so, wisely following Duneyrr away from the PP mediocrity fest.
I’ll reevaluate the brewery in the future if they open their own space. For now, there’s not a whole lot to review based on the space, besides that they brew here and sell beer to go from the taproom.
2026: They are still alive & kicking in this boom & bust era, impressive. Last time I was at Duneyrr there weren't any Dutchbag beers on the menu, but I see that they also hibernate for winter break. Here's to sampling some new beers this year...
