Energetic brewery! You can feel the energy affiliated with it. Visited the outlet at the brewery and had lunch. Obviously the place to go in town, well kept, pleasant staff, very busy wait person and excellent Franken food. I ordered the daily special and was very happy with it. Typical Franken beers brewed very well. As I was driving, I had a schnitt of beer, which is not a full glass. Yum!

My wife and I stopped in to Huppendorfer one day for a quick lunch and beers. We were late for lunch, although they were still open, and once the other couples who were there before us left we were all alone. Given that, it's hard to determine how good the service would have been otherwise, but we were treated very nicely. The outside of the building is pretty basic, and the inside traditional modern German (tile floor, wooden chairs and tables, curtains, ceiling beams - some of which are actually air ducts, large ceramic oven/heater) except for the bathroom which has an almost art-like lighting fixture in it. It was almost like dining in someone's home. The food was good although we only ordered a salad and wurst. Germans always use the best ingredients though. I had two beers, both of which were very good. I had a small glass of the dunkel to begin with. It was quite nice, and more of a caramelish amber than a darker beer. A half liter of the zwickel followed, and although not quite as good, it was also really nicely done. Unfortunately we were on our way to another destination or I would have sampled another beer. Two other things to note, there's a small bar with about six seats, and a biergarten although no one was there because it was a bit of a rainy day. I can't say that based on my experience it's a must-visit but if you're passing by I'd give it a shot.
