This was another beer that I ordered on Tavour late last year, as I never had anything from Liquid Love before. Loved the description of this and indeed, this wasn't like anything that I've ever reviewed on here before as it felt like a lemon meringue pie and a gumdrop dessert combined and fermented with the end result being something refreshing, tart, and captivating until the last sip!
Golden, muted, and subtly bright, this had a lovely look to it as it was topped off with a solid head of dense foam that settled perfectly even and took it's time to subside. Fine bubbles were left behind after each sip although they slide down the side of my glass as no lasting lacing could be seen. Tons of tart lemon, graham cracker, and lactobacillus were in the nose as the milk sugar, hint of lime (regular and key), and tonic water were in the taste. Highly carbonated, plenty tart, and sugary like soda, there was much going on here but in the end, this was worth puckering up for as the aftertaste felt like fruit puree and citrus rind that gave this plenty of pizazz. A bit of grittiness from the graham cracker reminded me of pie as this was lip-smacking once the last drop went down.
The listed ABV% on the can was 5.5 but even if it was less than what was listed on here, it was nearly undetectable as I could have had another after finishing this beat of a Sour off. No date was to be found anywhere but with a label design and concept as fun as this, who would notice? There wasn't any sediment to be found in the liquid and was the case with any good pie (solid or liquid), this called for another helping. Love the Liquid Love!
