Served from the can in a Revolution Every-Day Hero glass.
Ooh, new glass, new origin story: So, a little over a year ago, I was enjoying my weekly sojourn at Monk's. Out of the blue, following my order of an Every-Day Hero, my man Trevor asked me if I wanted a glass. "Sure," says I, and tucked it gingerly into my bag. Okay, it's not much of a story, but it's how it came to pass.
Anyway, this stuff pours an opaque deep egglpant topped by a half-finger at best of off-white foam. The nose delivers what is advertised on the tin, with plenty of mildly-tart blackberries and a backbone of cheesecake (complete with graham cracker crust!). The taste focuses mostly on the blackberries, but the finish brings in some crust and vanilla, the cheesecake relegated to a cameo in the post-credits scene. The body is a light-leaning medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a drying finish. Overall, I am very impressed with how the LL folks got that cheesecake character in there so well. The focus on the fruit was probably a good choice, especially as the sweetness works to balance and cut the sourness. Good times.
