Got this from Emma & Terry this past summer. Cheers!

From a 473ml can into a tulip
Double Stout with Ethiopian coffee

APPEARANCE: Pours out clear black and yields a small, looser looking, crackly, light tan head with lousy retention. Head quickly fizzes down to a fain wisp and ring. Black body with lower levels of carbonation evident. Head quickly vanishes and looks rather flat.

SMELL: Roasted malts and espresso coffee on the nose, with vanilla cream and milk chocolate as well. Hints of caramel candy as well. Bold enough.

TASTE: Roasted malts, with some clear espresso coffee and notes of vanilla cream up front. Some milk chocolate, butterscotch flavors, and some more roasted, bitter coffee at the swallow. Bolder finish of roasted malts, espresso, vanilla cream and light chocolate flavors linger on the palate. Flavorful.

PALATE: Medium body and medium carbonation. Creamy enough on the palate, goes down fine smooth and finishes a touch mouth-coating. Some bitterness lingers. Solid feel.

OVERALL: Good stuff. I’ve enjoyed everything by Third Moon so far and this one fits the bill for sure. The head could have a little more staying power, but the coffee character is lovely and the feel supports the shows. Well worth checking out if you can. Thanks again guys! Much appreciated.

Poured very dark brown and appeared black in the snifter.
Aroma was bourbon and maple and malts, not coffee. Curious, but really nice.
The taste followed, quite sweet in a BBA way, Deep chocolate and mild coffee, full bourbon barrel presence. Maple is definitely there.
Feel is smooth and viscous, very nice sipper.
Really enjoyed this today, thanks Peter!

Pour is the darkest of dark browns, and almost black. Decent amount of medium density tan colored head that lasted for a minute or two before receding to a thing ring / cap. Aroma really jumps from the glass, with maple dominating, especially from afar. It's almost a little overpowering up close, but from a couple feet away, it smells amazing. The coffee is there, but faint.

The taste is more balanced than the nose, with the coffee more easily identifiable alongside the maple. This beer is plenty sweet, driven by that maple, but not cloyingly so. Best consumed as a sipper. I'm not picking up much barrel either via smell or taste. Feel is full bodied and velvety smooth. There's a nice gentle alcohol warmth but no burn.

Overall this is a very tasty Sunday morning beer.

Each Beast a God from Third Moon Brewing. Received 16 oz can in a Ninja strike from @Coroneaus. Stored at home at 40 degrees. Reviewed 3/10/21. Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Undated can. Served at 56.3 degrees in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. Final temperature 61.8 degrees.
Appearance – 4.
First pour – Amber Brown (SRM 18), barely translucent.
Body – Deep Brown (SRM 30), opaque. When rear-lite, translucent ruby at the edges. Small amount of sediment lies on the inside of the glass.
Head – Average (Maximum 2.5 cm, aggressive center pour), chestnut, high density, short retention approaching fizzy, leaving a 0.3 cm yellow earth crown and no cap. Second pour produces 0.5 cm collar.
Lacing – Poor. A partial band of extremely tiny bubbles
Aroma – 4.5 – Initially strong maple, no hops, no yeast.
Flavor – 4.5 – Begins with maple, slightly sweet, followed by slightly bitter coffee, no malt, no hops, no yeast. No ethanol (8.5% ABV, as marked on container) taste or aroma. Distinct glowing coals gastric warming rapidly follows. The bourbon barrels eventually show up on the exhale. No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl.
Palate – 4 – Almost medium, just short of syrupy, soft carbonation.
Final impression and summation 4 (After deducting 0.25 point for undated can) In general, an excellent BBA stout, with the bourbon adding a pleasing counterpoint to the maple.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a large dark brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of nice floral coffee with some semi-sweet chocolate notes is quite enticing. Taste is also a nice mix of huge floral coffee notes with some nice semi-sweet chocolate notes and light roasted malt notes also perceptible. Body is full with nice creamy texture and good carbonation with no apparent alcohol notes. Nice solid coffee stout.
