Got this from Emma & Terry this past summer. Cheers!
From a 473ml can into a tulip
Double Stout with Brazil yellow Catuai coffee and vanilla beans
APPEARANCE: Pours out clear black and yields a small, looser looking, crackly, light tan head with lousy retention. Head quickly fizzes down to a fain wisp and ring. Black body with no real carbonation evident. A solid ring remains leaving no real lacing as it finishes.
SMELL: Lots of vanilla beans on the nose, with roasted coffee, roasted malts, and some milk chocolate on the nose. Notes of toffee, caramel and chocolate brownies as well. Enticing.
TASTE: Roasted malts, lots of espresso coffee flavors, as well as some potent vanilla character as well. Some milk chocolate, caramel sweetness and brownies at the swallow, moving into a bold finish of chocolate, roasted espresso, caramel sweetness, and some definite vanilla cream lingering on the palate. Bold and flavorful.
PALATE: Medium body and medium carbonation. Creamy enough on the palate, goes down fine smooth and finishes a touch mouth-coating. Some bitterness lingers. Solid feel.
OVERALL: Good stuff. This is more-or-less the OG Each Beast a God with copious amounts of vanilla beans added to the mix. I approve. Rich and flavorful the whole way through and very aromatic. I’m an unabashed fan of this style of stout and Third Moon has done a great job with this one. Very enjoyable. Thanks again guys!
