Double stout with Costa Villa Sarchi coffee, maple and chocolate
APPEARANCE: Clear, transparent black pour yields a three finger, medium looking, foamy, light tan head with solid retention. Head snap, crackles and pops down to a full, foamy cap and ring. Bistre brown body with medium levels of carbonation for the style.
SMELL: A clear maple syrup aroma, with vanilla cream, milk chocolate, as well as a touch of coffee and roasted malts on the nose. Some nice maple aromas with touches of butterscotch. Solid strength.
TASTE: Some roasted flavors with milk chocolate and sweet maple syrup up front. Flavorful enough. Some more maple flavors at the swallow, moving into a bold finish of sweet maple syrup, milk chocolate, vanilla cream, some light creamy coffee flavors, as well as a touch of roasted malts linger on the palate. Flavorful for sure.
PALATE: Medium body and medium carbonation. Creamy enough on the palate, goes down smooth and finishes somewhat mouth-coating. No real heat lingers.
OVERALL: This is solid stuff. The aroma and flavor worked out great and the feel and look match up as well. I’d say my double stouts could be a touch darker, which would also lead to a darker head too, but the head formation and staying power is better than the other variant we had today. Solid stuff and well worth checking out if you’re a fan of the style. Cheers!

Third Moon Brewing 'Breakfast Each Beast a God' @ 9.5% , served from a 473 ml can
A-pour is a dark cola brown from the can to black in the glass with a small size tan head , dissipating into a minimal lace ring along the tulip
S-coffee dominates
T-coffee start , smooth sweet maple & chocolate , finishes slight bitterness
MF-ok carbonation , feels full bodied
Ov-something lacking

Pours dark, with a slowly dissipating head that leaves a slight ring. The nose is like freshly percolated coffee. Stunning. Then a bit of the chocolate and vanilla also appears. The taste is not quite as apparent if we follow the nose. Less sweet, which is good, but also less flavourful and a bit thin with a carbonated end. This seemed like it could have been so much more. Maybe more chocolate, certainly bourbon.
As is, it's a drinkable fare, but the highlight is in the nose. It goes downhill from there.
