2,400th full review. The idea of a carrot cake imperial stout was super appealing and I'm stoked to try this for a milestone review. In honour of Third Moon's second anniversary. 473ml can served fairly cold into a beer mug.
Appearance - Jet black from the can and into the mug. Very dark tan head of about a finger that lasts for one minute before dissipating entirely. Sounds like pop does as the head fizzles away.
Smell - Eggnog, carrot cake, some bready aspect and a sweet cream cheese glaze. Definitely dairy and baking aspects here, a true pastry stout. Fairly intense aromatics.
Taste - Cinnamon, some element of carrot cake, nutmeg and generally sweeter and more "bready" up front. Noticeably boozy. Fairly bitter and roasty aftertaste. Flavors stick to your tongue. A sipper. Sweet then bitter.
Mouthfeel - Very thick and full bodied. Low carbonation. Engine oil thick. Goats the tongue in an extraordinary way
Overall - Definitely a sipper, but does deliver a big imperial stout with carrot cake flavorings (as well as more traditional stout characteristics). The booziness becomes a touch harsh (with the spices) after awhile, a better beer to share, or drink cold in a couple of separate 8 oz sessions over the course, as 16oz in one go is too much.

Pours a thick black with scant reddish brown head; dissipates shortly.
Sure some is suggestion but I smell carrot cake - cinnamon, vanilla, spice and notes of chocolate malt; a touch of booziness on nose.
Rich and velvety on palate with cinnamon, vanilla, nutmeg and notes of carrot - does come across as cake like - chocolate notes and a boozy warmth at the back end.
Full and warm mouthfeel - sweet and boozy but not cloying - delightful at 4 ounces (do not try to down 16 ounces).
