Pours the usual black, with a mocha head that soon thinks of other things to do, then to remain on top of a beer.
The nose screams chocolate but there is bourbon as well.
Kind of soft feel on the tongue before the carbonation bites. In the body too, the chocolate is playing the prominent role, with a strong bourbon trying to overwhelm but it doesn't. For some weird reason, figs also make an appearance.
It is a good example of the style, but as with everything Third Moon offers, it's good, but never quite great.

Can: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a dark brown foamy head with some retention and some lacing notes. Aroma of chocolate notes with some vanilla notes and light residual sugar notes with some nice woody bourbon notes. Taste is also a mix of chocolate/fudge with some vanilla and nice woody bourbon notes with light residual sugar notes. Body is above average with oily texture and good carbonation with some alcohol notes discernible. Solid BA stout with some nice flavors and good balance. I also enjoy the can format.
