Got this from Emma and Terry this year. Cheers!
From a 473ml can into a pint glass
Egg nog stout with nut meg, vanilla and cinnamon
APPEARANCE: Clear black pour yields a small, loose, fizzy, dark tan head with no retention. Fizzes away quickly into nothing. Black body with no carbonation evident. Looks flat pretty quickly.
SMELL: Vanilla notes, some nutmeg and cinnamon spices, roasted malts and some chocolate on the nose. Medium strength.
TASTE: Bolder flavors with plenty of nutmeg and cinnamon up front, some roasted malts, vanilla flavors and milk chocolate as well. More spices at the swallow, with a medium but lingering finish of nutmeg and cinnamon, roasted flavors, chocolate, and notes of vanilla.
PALATE: Medium body and medium carbonation. Creamy enough on the palate, goes down fine and finishes a touch mouth-coating. Some spices linger.
OVERALL: Solid stuff. The base stout will do the trick and the spice additions work out nicely as well. It’s nice to have a great adjunct stout that’s not overly high in alcohol. Enjoyable and worth checking out if you’re a fan of the brewery, which I certainly am. Thanks again, guys!
