375 ml wax sealed bottle. Durand purchase. Served cold-ish into a goblet.
Appearance - As expected, super duper black. Small deep tan head that fizzles away to nothingness in moments leaping a small tan residue at the edges of the glass.
Smell - Coffee and vanilla mostly with some leather and hints of smoke. A little wood too. Nice collaboration of aromas.
Taste - Plenty of coffee, some wood and the bourbon plays into it but more at the back end. Flavor sticks somewhat but seems a bit more muted than the original as well as a number of Third Moon's other Bestowed offerings.
Mouthfeel - Full bodied for sure with very low carbonation. Drinks lighter than you'd expect from a 27 proof behemoth.
Nice warming urn in the back of the throat.
Overall - A well crafted brew with great flavor profile, I just wish it stuck a bit more and there was some small semblance of carbonation.
