J.J. Ratigan Brewing Company

brewpub in a storfront in downtown Pottstown, right on High Street which is the main drag. Inside there is concrete topped bar on the left side, hightops and tables to the right for dining. Some window to the brewing equipment in the back, and there is a balcony type area that overlooks the front but actually not sure how you get up there. On a Saturday night it was crowded, they don't take reservations so we waited at the bar before eating. good lineup of a mix of beer styles, 10 beers on tap. Beers I drank were solid. Service was a little spotty, but it was a busy night. Food was upscale pub food.

My wife and I visited here soon after they opened. They restored a grand old retail space in the heart of Pottstown and did a great job- it has a cool, industrial/ rustic feel. We loved the space and I enjoyed their rye pale ale. There was a good vibe while we there and you could tell people were excited to have another quality brewery in Pottstown. They are active in the community and are in the process of finishing out the rest of the inside space. We will be going there again soon.
