From the half liter bottle, it pours a clear yellow color with a modest white head that reduces to a thin layer. In the nose, it is bready malt. The mouth gets a clean crisp malt flavor, just as one would expect from a festbier.

Pours a clear yellow with thick, fluffy head.
Smell is bready and crackery with some floral hints. Notes of rye, wheat dough, knäckebröd and some butter.
Taste is clean, crsp and bready. Some floral and buttery hints with notes of rye, wheat dough and citrus peel. Solid bitterness.
Mouthfeel is medium, a bit creamy and well carbonated.
Overall, another really nice lager from Hummel.

Sampled from a bottle at the brewery pub in Merkendorf in July 2006. I believe this beer is brewed for Christmas and Easter, and perhaps for a summer festival as well.
This festbier poured a clear, amber-red color with light tan foam that settled but clung to the glass in a few places. The smell was very malty with notes of caramel. The taste was malty and lightly sweet with flavors of caramel and brown malts. There was a mild hoppiness beneath the malt, and unfortunately a very light taste of diacetyl. The mouthfeel was smooth and creamy and very malty though not overly sweet. The body was medium-full with moderate carbonation feel. It was dry overall and the finish was very dry, almost astringent. This was a nice festbier, despite the unexpected diacetyl.
