I can walk here. And often do. We are Friday night regulars, and this is the place where everybody knows our name.

Specialty is british and irish cask ales from beer engines. Nice variety as well. Stouts, bitters, ESB, porters, milds, pales, IPA. Beers on nitro as well.

Non-cask beers are good as well. Even throw in hard seltzer or two. Usually have non-alcoholic can pours, too.

Very good pizza and pretzels, and bags of snacks.

Lots of music, but different than other brewery music. Bluegrass, jazz, and irish jam sessions. Friday night mostly jazz groups playing backgroundish music. Twice a month, on Mondays, they have big bands, like full size orchestra big bands, often with a local band as the opening act.

And yet, there’s more.

In the morning they’re a coffee shop, conveniently located across the street from a busy commuter rail station.

They have a “British Store” selling british & irish foods, cheese, tea, and chocolate.

And, when a local italian deli closed, the sandwich makers moved here. So you can have lunch here as well now.

Oh, and they also have dartboards and a darts team.

The owner Pete is a lover of English beers, specifically cask beers.

This is the first place in America I have been to that has more than one cask on tap. He has six. As someone who always order a cask beer when available I was blown away.

I sampled two different styles, a mild and ESB. Both were excellent and served in proper imperial pint glasses. You can also get a short pour as you can in the UK.

He also offers other beer styles and seltzer as well.

If you are a lover of beer, specifically cask you should make your way to this brewery.

Visited Back Beat Brewing in Beverly today.
Nice interior, unasuming, did not eat there. Outdoor seating available.
Staff (owner and family) were graciuos, and gregarious.
Excellent cask stout, and cask bitter.
Live jazz trio played at a volume we could talk, without raising our voices.
All in all a plesant, experience.
We wil revisit

This is located right across the Beverly commuter rail station. You won't miss it.
The space is pretty open with large tables. Outdoor seating are available too.
About 10 or so beers to choose from with good variety of styles, the main draw is their traditional British style cask conditioned ales. They usually have about 4 available. Both cask ales I tasted were properly poured, high quality with authentic profile.
Well made cask ales aren't easy to find. It is worth a visit.

Spacious and barebones. Service was provided from a counter. Pleasant and efficient but not with great knowledge.

My partners liked the food.

There were ten beers on tap. I’d say they were off the mid-level variety.
