Pours a clear, golden color with hints of copper. On the pour there's about half a finger of airy foam on top, but it subsides to a thin lacing pretty quickly. Carbonation looks spot on. Not much lacing on glass edge as you drink.
Looks like a pretty typical Mexican style lager. Aroma is sweet corn, butter, lemony hops and a hint of white wine. Maybe a bit of skunkiness as it warms.
Taste follows the aroma well. An amalgamation of sweet, roasted corn and lemon rind hops up front, finishes crisp and dry with a lingering hoppy lemon rind spice.
Mouthfeel is light bodied with zesty carbonation and a hint of chewiness. Dry on the finish and very drinkable.
Overall, this is one of the better Mexican style lagers I've had. It retains the essence of the Mexican style lager in its lightness, sweet corn notes and sessionability, while providing a bit more complexity and higher quality than I'm used to. This is my first brew from Bear King and it did not disappoint. I look forward to trying more.
