Served on draught into a .5L hefeweissbier glass. Cost was 3 euro plus a 2 euro pfand (deposit) for the glass. Reviewed from notes.

A: Pours a two finger head of nice pleasant cream, decent thickness, and three minute retention. Colour is hazy orange.

Sm: A light aroma of citrusy esters, mainly orange, and a bit of yeast.

T: Orange citrus esters, and badly treated barley. A bit watery and artificial. Some bad off-lemon tones. Simple and rather imbalanced.

Mf: Awful. The worst mouthfeel of any hefeweizen I've ever had. Watery, artificially syrupy thick, and disgustingly lumpy. A hefeweizen should be thin, wet, and refreshingly light. This is the opposite of that, and it destroys the flavours of the body.

Dr: Too lumpy to drink repeatedly, and poorly priced by German standards. I won't have it again.

I had this of all places at a wine fest in Bamberg. It was a great beer. It has a straw body a thick off white head. A very spicy clove aroma. The flavor hits you with strong spice flavor at first and then transitions to sweet banana. It has a heavy feel for this style. A great beer that is worth a try if you are in burbs of Bamberg.
